Hi, I’m Bob Rout—an experienced electrical contractor, audio-visual (AV) installer, professional live sound technician and DJ based in Indiana, Pennsylvania. For more than 25 years, I’ve delivered reliable sound system installations, electrical work, and live entertainment across homes, businesses, churches, and event venues.
🔌 Early Passion for Electronics
My love for electronics started early. Even in preschool, I was sketching pictures of myself as an electrician. My dad supported that dream by bringing home old phones and electronics gear, which I eagerly disassembled just to see how they worked.
That hands-on curiosity eventually shaped a lifelong career.
🛠️ Professional Experience in AV & Electrical Work
After attending Pennsylvania College of Technology studying Electronics Technology, I began my career at Audio Phonics in Indiana, PA, specializing in car audio, marine systems, and home AV installations.
I later joined NCK Computing, where I handled POS systems, CCTV security, and access control systems for restaurants and commercial clients. From there, I became the lead electrician at KENstruction, overseeing large residential and commercial wiring projects, managing job costs, and mentoring apprentices.
In 2007, I founded Third Wave Sound, a business built around my passion for both electrical systems and live audio technology. Today, I provide:
- Residential and light commercial electrical services
- Custom home theaters and church sound systems
- Mobile DJ and live sound services for weddings, clubs, and events

I started DJing in 2004 at Wolfies Club in Indiana, PA, and quickly became a trusted name in the Western PA DJ scene. Known for mixing across genres with precision and energy, I’ve held residencies at some of the region’s most popular venues.
